$70,000 - $85,000 - Commensurate with qualifications and experience.
 
Position Description:
Paul D. Camp Community College (PDCCC) is a small 2-year college in Southeast Virginia. Campuses are located in Franklin and Suffolk. There is also a center in Smithfield. The college offers associate degrees, certificates, and career studies certificates in transfer and career/technical programs; credit and non-credit workforce services and training for businesses and industries; special interest classes for the community; and summer classes for youth through the Regional Workforce Development Center. A dual enrollment program for high school students, online courses, and developmental studies classes are available at the college as well.
 
PDCCC is currently recruiting for a Business Office Manager. This position will support Business Office Operations. This position reports to the Operations Manager. This position will supervise the Financial Services Analyst and Student Financial Accountant positions. Some of the responsibilities include managing all aspects of the Business office such as General Ledger and Student Accounting, coordinating all Financial reporting which includes monthly reporting to VCCS and the Annual Financial reports for state and federal agencies, managing accounting staff in the areas of receivables, student account and debt, general and financial reporting and cashiering, ensuring staff have been properly trained in order to perform the duties of their positions, working with the Operations Manager to assist with the annual budgeting process, coordinating annual ARMICS testing and reporting in compliance with regulations, managing and preparing all reports for Accounts Receivable, managing the Cashiering function including banking, assisting in the development and implementation of college fiscal policies and procedures.

Requirements: 
Considerable knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles and fund accounting. Demonstrated ability to apply and adapt established accounting methods to a variety of financial transactions and reports. Working knowledge of OMB Circulars, federal cost principles and administrative and audits. High level of skills and proficiency in government and grant accounting and demonstrated experience with federal, state, and local rules, regulations, and policies. Knowledge of non-profit organizations and fund accounting. Demonstrated ability to interpret complex policies and make good sound decisions. Demonstrated ability in assembling, analyzing, and preparing financial reports and statements involving complex financial data. Advanced level skill in word processing, spreadsheet, and database software. Ability to prioritize multiple tasks to meet stringent deadlines. Experience with interpreting and applying policies to financial data. Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality. Good organizational skills. Strong customer service skills with a high degree of professionalism. Ability to work independently and collaboratively. Ability to successfully interact with all levels of faculty, staff, and employees. Ability to represent the college to individuals and groups of diverse backgrounds. Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing.
 
Additional Considerations:
Advanced level skill using Microsoft Suite (ex. Word, Excel, Outlook). Experience with VCCS Community College System and SSC System processes including Accounts Payable, Payroll and Vendor Management, Procurement, eVA, Asset Management, Equipment Trust Fund, Inventory Control and Federal and State Grants. Experience with PeopleSoft AIS Oracle. Knowledge of eVA, Virginia Community System, and Commonwealth Accounting Policies and procedures (CAPP). Knowledge of State Accounting System including the Virginia Community College System structure. Advanced training in grant/contract accounting, indirect costs plans and federal cost principles. Experience in governmental accounting and/or grant/contract accounting in higher education environment. Experience with Commonwealth accounting systems (Financial, AIS, and Student, SIS) and reporting system (Cardinal).
