Name: Future of the Nottoway River - Information Session
Date: August 20, 2025
Time: 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM EDT
Event Description:
ou are cordially invited to attend a special community information session focused on the future of the Nottoway River--one of Virginia's most scenic and historically significant waterways.

A collaborative group of local, state, federal, and private partners are exploring the Nottoway River's eligibility to become the first designated National Scenic River in Virginia. The goal is to recognize and preserve the natural beauty of the river while continuing to support traditional uses and landowner stewardship.

In addition, other conceptual plans for responsible promotion and protection of the river will be presented. These ideas are in the early stages and community input is vital to ensure that any future efforts reflect the values and priorities of local residents.
You are welcome to attend either event, regardless of which county you live in.

This is a community conversation, not a commitment. local, state, and federal officials representing the area have also been invited to listen and learn alongside residents. We encourage you to share this invitation with neighbors or friends who may be interested in the Nottoway River and its future.

We look forward to hearing your voice and continuing the strong tradition of local stewardship that has long protected this important natural resource.
