Roles and Responsibilities: Manage the Course: Oversee the day-to-day maintenance of the 18-hole golf course and Facility Grounds at Cypress Cove, ensuring everything looks pristine year-round. Grounds and Equipment Management: Supervise all aspects of grounds care, from mowing to irrigation systems. You’ll be in charge of mowing greens, fairways, tees, and rough, as well as ensuring irrigation systems are performing at their best. Team Leadership: Build and manage an effective Grounds Crew. You’ll lead by example, helping with tasks like raking bunkers, mowing fairways, and managing hole location changes, while supporting and guiding your crew. Pesticide and Irrigation: Lead the spraying of pesticides and herbicides, ensuring the course remains healthy and hazard-free. Use your knowledge to optimize irrigation systems and troubleshoot any issues that arise. Special Projects: Have a chance to work on special projects that enhance the course's beauty and functionality. Whether it’s a new landscaping initiative or maintenance task, you’ll play a key role in creating a top-tier golf course. Budgeting and Reports: Help manage the budget for facility grounds maintenance, reviewing expenses and working with the CCCC President for approvals on overtime and large purchases. Winter Flexibility: Enjoy a more flexible schedule during the off-season, with ample time for personal projects or rest. Qualifications: Turf Management Knowledge: A degree in turf management or related field is preferred. Experience with golf courses and maintaining bentgrass greens is a plus! Pesticide License: You’ll need a valid pesticide license to oversee all spraying activities. Irrigation Expertise: Familiarity with golf course irrigation systems is key to optimizing water usage and resolving any issues. Strong Organizational Skills: Be able to manage time efficiently, prioritize tasks, and oversee a wide range of responsibilities, both daily and long-term. Leadership Ability: You’ll be leading a team, so strong communication and leadership skills are essential for maintaining a motivated and hardworking crew. Passion for Golf: Whether you’re a lifelong golf enthusiast or new to the game, having a passion for the sport is crucial to maintaining the golf course to the highest standard. Working Conditions: Full-time Schedule: The position is full-time, with a typical schedule during the week and on weekends as needed. Flexibility is offered during the winter months. Physical Demands: Must be comfortable working outdoors in various weather conditions and performing physical tasks like mowing, lifting, and equipment maintenance. Casual Work Attire: Casual yet professional attire is required, including a plain tee or collared shirt and golf pants/shorts.
